भारत कि नदियों में प्रदुषण का बढ़ता बोझ।

द्वारा डा नितीश प्रियदर्शी भूवैज्ञानिक रांची पिछले कुछ वर्षों में औद्योगिकीकरण एवं शहरीकरण के कारण भारत कि प्रमुख नदियों में प्रदूषण का बोझ बढ गया है। सिंचाई , पीने के लिए , बिजली तथा अन्य उद्देश्यों के लिए पानी के अंधाधुंध इस्तेमाल से चुनौती काफी बढ गयी है। गंगा और यमुना सदियों से करोड़ों लोगों के लिए व उनसे कई गुना अधिक जल - जीवों , पशु - पक्षियों के लिए जीवनदायिनी भूमिका निभाती रही हैं पर हाल के सालों में इन नदियों पर अधिक चर्चा इनके प्रदूषण और इन पर मंडरा रहे अन्य खतरों के संदर्भ में हुई है। पिछले कुछ सालों में सरकारी , गैर - सरकारी स्तर पर इन नदियों की रक्षा के लिए कुछ प्रयास भी आरंभ हुए हैं। गंगा व यमुना एक्शन प्लान इस उद्देश्य के लिए ही बनाए गए। पर इसमें सीमित सफलता ही मिल पाई है। 11 वीं योजना के दस्तावेज ने मार्च से जून 2006 के आंकड़ों के आधार पर बताया है कि कन्नौज से इलाहाबाद तक अभी गंगा का पानी स्नान करने योग्य गुणवत्ता को भी ...

The state is land locked and it shares its boundary with Orissa on the southeast, Chattisgarh on the southwest, Bihar on the north, West Bengal on the east and Uttar Pradesh on the northwest. It comprises of the Chotanagpur Plateau, which forms a part of Deccan bio-geographic province. It is a hilly undulating plateau characterized by predominantly tropical forests and tribal settlements. The State is endowed with natural resources that need to be conserved and utilized in a sustainable manner for all-round development of the state in general and the marginalized tribal population in particular. Groundwater exploitation is also raising sea levels.

By 2050, groundwater pumping will cause a global sea level rise of about 0.8 millimeters per year. by Dr. Nitish Priyadarshi Slowly but surely, the sea level continues to rise. Recent research suggests this increase is also driven by the exploitation of underground water by humans that eventually flowed into the sea. Climate change, with its associated melting ice caps and shrinking glaciers, is the usual suspect when it comes to explaining rising sea levels. But a recent study now shows that human water use has a major impact on sea-level change that has been overlooked. Science community was shocked by the claim that 42% of the sea-level rise of the past decades is due to groundwater pumping for irrigation purposes. What could this mean for the future – and is it true? Global warming is melting glaciers and causing sea levels to rise. The volume of water is also expanding because of heat.
