Did India have the atomic power in ancient days?

Image
A small slide show on concept of atomic power of ancient India. by Dr. Nitish Priyadarshi Our own culture, if we assume a starting point of 4000 B.C. has progressed from primitive agriculture and herding to nuclear fission is only 6,000 years. Considering the age of mankind, there has been ample time for other cultures to have arrived at a level roughly corresponding to ours. A re-examination of some of the ancient records that have come down to us might give some indication of man kind having previously attained our present aptitude for destruction. While there are hints of great blasting of the earth´s surface in the Bible (Sodom and Gomorrah), the Greek myths, and many of the legends of the Indians of North and South America, it is in the ancient records of India, copied and recopied from prehistoric antiquity, that we find, described in considerable detail, the use and effect of what closely resembles atomic explosions in warfare. Unexpected references to such recent developm...

Uttrakhand disaster in India is nature’s fury but consequences are man made.

Image
A short film on causes and impact of disaster in Uttrakhand state in India. By Dr. Nitish Priyadarshi Geologist.    This was one of the most challenging disasters till date at Kedarnath so much so that even after few days also it was really tough for a human mind to calculate the loss. It made everyone busy. Media is covering as much as they can. Indian army, air force, navy all are focusing here to save the human lives. Still death is uncountable along with other losses. Analysis differs. While the administration insists that it was a natural calamity, environmentalists hold that this was a man-made disaster waiting to happen. Though it was nature’s fury but the after effects was purely man made. It happened because geology of the area was always neglected in construction and expansion of the affected areas. Observations suggest that inadequate consideration of geology and geomorphology during the road alignment and poor, faulty engineering techniques were major factors re...

Film on ruins of an ancient structure found near Ranchi in Jharkhand state of India.

Image
This short film unreels the unsolved mysterious rock structures and cuttings. Film by  Dr. Nitish Priyadarshi   This short film unreels the unsolved mysterious rock structures and cuttings, on the hills some 25 km north of Ranchi city, capital of Jharkhand State of India. These structures have recently been exposed due to expansion of road construction, and now are being continuously destroyed due to on going construction.  Ranchi possesses remnants of numerous pre-historic stone implements. Its monuments, some of which are credited to the Asuras by the Mundas, yielded such a mixed assortment of finds as polished stone stools, Carnelian beads, wheel-made pottery, copper and bronze objects, copper and gold ornaments and even iron slags, that it is impossible to date them to any one age. The way the rocks are carved, it clearly indicates that people at that time in this area were perfect in making such structure. The rock cuttings and stone blocks fitting snugly together...

Night is vanishing.

Light pollution has become worldwide. By Dr. Nitish Priyadarshi Glittering stars some 20 km outside Ranchi. Light pollution with fog in Ranchi city.                          Scattering of light on the sky of Ranchi city.                   Over-Illuminated tree. Other example of light pollution. For most human history, the phrase “light pollution” would have made no sense. Imagine walking on Ranchi ( Jharkhand , India ) street on a dark night some 50 years back when it was thin population. People carrying torches and lanterns in the Ranchi  Street were common. Even the rickshaw pullers use to attach small lantern in front or back of rickshaws. Cycles were fit with dynamos. Only few houses were lit by gas during power cut and there were few public gaslights in the street. T he natural night sky light comes from starlight, zodiacal light (sunlight scattering from dust ...

Totemism in different tribes in Jharkhand State of India.

Image
Sacredness of the totems is unique only with the indigenous people of Jharkhand . Totem also protects the equilibrium of the biodiversity. By Dr. Nitish Priyadarshi Despite knowing about biodiversity’s importance for a long time, human activity has been causing massive extinctions. Some 10-30% of the mammal, bird and amphibian species are threatened with extinction, due to human actions. We have to save them. Tribes of Jharkhand state of India are doing this with the help of totemism. A totem is a being, object, or symbol representing an animal or plant that serves as an emblem of a group of people, such as a family, clan, group, lineage, or tribe, reminding them of their ancestry (or mythic past). In kinship and descent, if the apical ancestor of a clan is nonhuman, it is called a totem. Normally this belief is accompanied by a totemic myth. They have been around for many years. The term totem is derived from the Ojibwa word ototeman, meaning "one's brother-sister kin."...

River on fire in Jharkhand State of India.

Image
Fire is also coming out through hand-pumps. By Dr. Nitish Priyadarshi The haunting inscription that marks the gates of hell in Dante’s Inferno could well be true for coalfields located in Jharkhand in Eastern India . For, the underground fires that have been raging in the coalfields of these areas over several decades are now beginning to engulf its thickly inhabited areas as well. Earlier it was Jharia town now the new areas are under threat. Recently two major incidents took place near Bokaro and Dhanbad town where underground fire erupted on the surface. One was through hand-pump and other was in middle of a local river near Dhanbad. Jharkhand has been the home to some bizarre happenings in the recent days. The most freaky and interesting in recent days is the Katri River water which has been bubbling with fire, literally! Panic gripped in Katras area near Dhanbad when fire erupted in middle of the Katri river. It was first case of such eruption in river. Some local kids spotted fi...
